Where the Netra creek is mumbling in it’s bed, where the valley begins to expand, where the Schafrain greets and the Löhchen is beckoning so proudly the cenotaph downward looks, the Mühlberg invitingly whispers and rustles, the Schinzenberg breathless listens:
That is my hamlet, so neat, so fine, my Datterode, trusted home of mine.
Where the Sachsenberg elongates up to the sky, opposite the Pfifferberg stretches, where Boynburg castle towers out of the green, bearing signs of decay by the ravages of time, like a pearl in green jewellery, surrounded by high and wide mountains:
That is my hamlet, so neat, so fine, my Datterode, trusted home of mine.
wide open hearted climb to the heights and look down into the valley, you embrace the little houses rich in number snuggling dense in tight space, the amazed eye looks and barely notices, amid massive and proud stands, the church, inviting for prayer:
That is my hamlet, so neat, so fine, my Datterode, trusted home of mine.
